By interweaving different media such as painting, sculpture, 3D design, and videogame development tools, Vid Koprivšek explores the boundaries and intersections of digital and physical artefacts. His recent projects have taken the form of site-specific installations, using technological interventions to expand the traits of physical objects and adding fictional and digital qualities to them. With each project, his works thus become an intersection distorting our established notions of the physicality of objects.
The work There was a hole here. It's gone now is limited to digital space, redirecting the process of extending physical objects into a questioning of the perception of computer illusionism. In doing so, it focuses on one of the key characteristics of digital graphics, which, despite their synthetic nature, often attempt to mimic photorealistic images. The interactive digital work leads the viewer through a mysterious crevice to an underground reservoir, within which they encounter a site-specific intervention in the form of a hanging object, impaled with rods of reinforced steel, supposedly found on site. Thus, even though the entirety of the digital space is the author's construction, a duality is established between the "found" location and the sculptural piece, which implies an artistic intervention.
Vid Koprivšek graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design and is completing his MA in video and new media. Swarm Entry, his first solo exhibition, was presented at the Aksioma Project Space in 2023 as part of the U30+ initiative. In collaboration with Matej Mihevc, he presented Polymer Ooze at DobraVaga gallery and participated in several group exhibitions. He has designed several graphic images for theoretical lecture series and music albums, including the cover of the international music compilation Bag of Toys, for which he won the first prize for the best album image at the visual competitions of the Tresk #12 festival, together with Matej Mihevc. He works between Maribor and Ljubljana.

Njegovi nedavni projekti so v obliki site-specific instalacij s tehnološkimi posegi razširjali meje fizičnih artefaktov ter jim dodajali fiktivne in digitalne lastnosti.
